Vascular Treatment
What does the treatment involve?
Until now treating veins was a lengthy and painful process using needles during surgery. The NDYag laser is designed to treat unsightly spider or thread veins simply, safely and using a non-invasive process without disruption to normal activities. Post treatment redness and bruising is normal but will gradually fade.
Treatment is performed using an NDYag light technology or laser, this light is absorbed into the haemoglobin in the blood producing heat energy which effectively destroys the vein. Veins usually require a series of treatments over a period of time, and no stripping or injections are used. The treatment is less painful, quicker and generally more successful than conventional methods and patients have described the sensation as "warm and prickly" or "like the snap of a rubber band".
How many treatments are required?
The duration and number of treatments varies, depending on the area to be covered and type of lesions requiring treatment. Normally a course of 3 to 5 treatments are required, at approximately one month intervals, patients can see dramatic results within a very short time.
